I absolutely loved this Idaho Mountain Anniversary Session! I photographed McKenzie and Jake’s OUTDOOR POCATELLO WEDDING 5 years ago! So, when McKenzie reached out to see if I was available for their anniversary session, I was so excited! I seriously LOVE seeing my couples again and getting to catch up with them! It makes it especially nice too because I already know them and have photographed them before so I know their personalities and what prompts would work best for them! I always prep prompts and pose ideas before each session and believe it or not, I don’t do every single pose and prompt for every couple. So, I love that I was able to prep what I knew would work specifically for McKenzie and Jake!

Right before the session, I texted McKenzie an update about the weather and she mentioned that Jake wasn’t really excited for photos but was being a good sport. And let me tell you, as an Idaho Wedding and Family Photographer, that is so common! I know that for some people, taking photos is not your favorite thing in the world. And I totally get that! Which is why, I really try to make it the best experience possible! I want you to have fun and enjoy photos as much as you can so I will definitely be using prompts to bring out genuine emotion and I can read when there is a prompt or pose that you’re not really feeling and we move on quickly!

There were a couple times during this Idaho Mountain Anniversary Session that McKenzie and Jake were just laughing and I loved it! They are such calm and laid back people, and we definitely got some photos that show that, but like I said, I love to capture the laughter and fun too! And for this session, we had a perfect mix of both! We also had an incredible mountain location and the light was amazing! I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to catch up with this couple! Happy 5 year anniversary McKenzie and Jake!
