Kelli & Matt are the sweetest people! They have been married for 12 years and met on a blind date! They have a super fun dog, Mulder and he came along for the session! We had perfect weather for this Idaho Foster Care Session in Pocatello Idaho! I wanted to try a new spot, Gibson Jack and it did NOT disappoint! The fall colors were on point and the light was gorgeous!! We started off with photos of all three of them because I wasn’t sure how long Mulder would last. It was just like having a toddler at their session! haha! In all honesty, I am not an animal person, but I really do love it when families include their fur babies in their sessions, because I want your family photos to be authentic to you and your family!!! I want them to portray your relationships and personalities, and for a lot of people, that includes their animals, and I love that! I treat it the same as with any other family session, we start with the most rambunctious first and typically that’s babies, toddlers and animals! Mulder did really well and we ended up with some fun photos of all three of them and of just Mulder!
Kelli & Matt really wanted to start by showcasing that they are a foster care family. They had these sweet t-shirts made and they even had a handkerchief for Mulder to wear too. They had the most beautiful sign that said, ‘A child’s need for love outweighs our fear’ and I was so touched by that. Families that open their home to foster care children are so brave and so giving and I see that in Kelli and Matt. I know they will make great parents and I am so excited for them to start on this journey!
During their Idaho Foster Care Session, we also included some photos of just Kelli & Matt as a couple and of just Matt. He is a firefighter and brought his uniform for a couple photos which was so fun! I loved photographing this little family and am so grateful I had this opportunity!
