Emma & Matthew’s Everett Picnic Wedding was so cute and unique!! Emma and Matthew ‘met online through similar music tastes and then met in person 4 years ago and hit it off’! They have been together ever since and have been doing long distance as Emma is from Canada. When they first reached out to me, Emma was waiting for her visa and immigrated to the USA just before their wedding!
One thing that Emma and Matthew mentioned about their wedding is that it would be a little untraditional and definitely a casual picnic feel! Which was SO fun! As a PNW Wedding Photographer, I have never photographed a wedding like this and I loved being able to see Emma & Matthew embrace who they are and do things their own way for their wedding!
Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens in Everett, WA
The venue fit Emma & Matthew’s Everett Picnic Wedding theme perfectly!! Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens is set right next to Legion Park in Everett Washington. They had their ceremony under a gazebo in the gardens with picnic blankets laid out for their guests. Before the ceremony, I stole Emma & Matthew for some photos of just the two of them in the gardens. They arrived together and wore more casual wedding attire which was so cute! I LOVED Emma’s fall themed hair bow and bouquet and Matthew’s green slacks!
Emma & Matthew even walked into their ceremony together, hand in hand unlike the traditional groom standing at the front and the bride walking down the aisle. Their family and friends were so sweet and supportive and starting cheering them on as they were walking down the aisle to get married! Emma & Matthew shared the sweetest vows during their ceremony and after their first kiss as husband and wife, we took a few minutes to capture photos with the people that mean the most to them – their families!
Casual Picnic Wedding Reception
After their ceremony, they had a casual picnic wedding reception complete with blankets in the grass, bbq and they even set up old school video games inside for their guests to enjoy! As a PNW Elopement Photographer, this definitely felt more like an elopement than a huge wedding which was so fitting for Emma & Matthew! They are the sweetest couple and were so kind to me the whole time I was there for their wedding, which of course made my job so much easier! I loved capturing their unique Everett Picnic Wedding!
