Outdoor Idaho Wedding | Mike & Brittany | Sarah Tapp Photo + Events

Mike is one of my brother-in-laws closest friends so I have known him for a while. When his fiance Brittany contacted me to see if I was available to photograph their wedding, I was more than willing! They decided to just have a simple outdoor Idaho wedding at Mike’s grandparents house in Menan Idaho. Their backyard is gorgeous and backs up right to a river making for the perfect backdrop. Family and friends helped with all the set-up and decor so it was very much a family event. Mike’s grandpa officiated and shared some beautiful words about life and love. He mentioned that there will always be hard times but if you ‘remember to focus on what was right between you’ you can make it through anything. I love that! A huge part of why I do what I do is to help couples remember why they fell in love! I believe that a photo speaks a thousand words and in hard times, it’s amazing to look back at those photos from your wedding day and remember the feelings you had then and let them carry you moving forward.

We started the ceremony a few minutes late but the weather held out for us just long enough for the couple to say their vows and get a few photos after! Then of course, in true Idaho fashion, a thunderstorm rolled in with crazy wind and rain and was gone about an hour and a half later. Brittany and Mike were a little frazzled after the ceremony but I assured them that cloudy skies make for gorgeous images! And haven’t you heard, rain on your wedding day means good luck for your marriage! So everything worked out! I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to photograph Mike & Brittany’s outdoor Idaho wedding!
