Dear Adalynn,

I can’t believe you are already a year old! Time has gone by so fast and you are growing every day! The last week or so every time I look at you I realize how big you’re getting. I realize that I have a one year old! What!? Where did all the time go?

This first year with you has been a whirlwind. Being a mom is so much harder than I imagined and I love you more than I thought I ever could. The first couple months were rough and I had a hard time adjusting but things got easier and though I still worry way too much, I’ve think I’ve figured out how to actually enjoy watching you grow. I’ve learned to slow down and appreciate the little moments. Even the ones when you’re screaming bloody murder! I’ve realized that I am more patient than I thought I was and I’ve started to think about the future.

We are so lucky to have you Adalynn. You are a light in our family. You are always smiley and you get so excited about the little things! You are so curious and you love to know what’s going on around you. We still can’t decide if you look more like mom or dad, but you definitely have mom’s facial expressions. I’m so grateful to have you in my life Adalynn. Thank you for making me a mommy. I love you sweet girl. Happy Birthday!
