This Romantic Mountain Elopement Styled Shoot feels like it was straight out of a movie and 100% too good to be true! Like, how are these MY images!!??? Seriously though, as I was editing them, my eyes got big and jaw dropped on almost every.single.photo. …Crazy, right? Apparently all I needed was a floral dress, incredible location, amazing models and a colorful bouquet to make my dream photo shoot!!
This styled shoot was put together at the last minute and I honestly was questioning why I was even going to so much effort to pull it off! Since moving to the Seattle area I have missed Idaho and I was going back for a wedding and staying for about a week. And of course, I packed in lots of plans for that week so throwing in a styled shoot seemed a little crazy! haha! But, I have a friend that is a florist and she was wanting to put together a super colorful bouquet for a shoot and I couldn’t pass it up so I reached out saying I’d love to put something together! Emily with Honey and Faye is an incredible florist and I almost could not believe my eyes when I saw the florals for this shoot! I asked her last minute if she could pull together a headpiece of some kind and the one she came up with blew me away!
I was also trying to find a dress last minute and narrowed it down to 2 dresses from 2 different rental shops. A lace boho dress and this floral dress. I had picked the lace one and then it didn’t end up working out so we went with the floral from Rocky Mountain Gowns. And let me tell you, this could not have been a better choice! The dress looked stunning on my model, Emma who actually owns Cakes by Emma and makes the best cakes! Her husband James had this awesome blue suit already and everything just came together so well!
Rocky Mountain Gowns was amazing to work with at such short notice even though the owner had just had surgery! She made sure the dress was all ready for us and was so accommodating! And Emma and James were incredible models! They were literally up for anything and actually have some experience modeling so it made my job way easier!! There were certain poses that I didn’t even have to direct them for which was so nice!
I almost cannot believe that this Romantic Mountain Elopement Styled Shoot was pulled together so last minute but it was seriously a DREAM! I didn’t realize how much my soul needed it until after everything was over. Emma & James were SO encouraging of me during the whole shoot which is rare for me to experience as a photographer. Normally, I am the one encouraging my subjects and I did still do that for this shoot but it was reciprocated this time and that was incredible to me. Emma & James are so kind and fun and I LOVED photographing them! Not to mention we had an indescribably stunning location AND sunset!
