Rigby Idaho Summer Session | Duvall Family | Sarah Tapp Photo + Events

As an Idaho Wedding Photographer, I don’t get to photograph families too often so this Rigby Idaho Summer Session of the Duvall family was a fun change! Last year my oldest daughter started Kindergarten! I was SO excited for the change but it ended up being a little more bittersweet than I anticipated. You can read more about it in my blog post, A letter to my daughter on her 1st day of Kindergarten. We adjusted just fine and Adalynn absolutely loves school! I credit a huge part of that to her AMAZING Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Duvall and Mrs. Walters. They made learning fun for her and always encouraged her to do her best. … So, when the end of the school year came around I was trying to think of a gift I could give them that wasn’t so generic. This was my first year having a child in public school and I really wanted to thank them for helping her along. I decided that I was going to gift each of them a mini session. And being a photographer, sometimes I don’t love doing that because I think people will see it as a cop out. Like ‘oh, she just didn’t want to spend money or think of a gift to get’. So, I don’t do it very often, but this time, I really felt like they would appreciate it. So, I wrote a thank you card and included a coupon for a free mini session to each of her teachers. A couple days later, I volunteered in Adalynn’s classroom and Mrs. Duvall said it was one of the best gifts she’s ever gotten as a teacher. She thanked me and said she was so excited to get photos done. I found out later that her oldest son would be leaving on a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints later that summer. It felt like every time I talked to Angee (Mrs. Duvall) about photos after that, she mentioned in some way or another how this was an answer to her prayers.

And their Rigby Idaho Summer Session went perfectly! We picked a great Idaho Summer night with really good weather! I met them at the Lorenzo Boat Dock and they all looked so good! They brought their dog and were just happy to be there! (They had to be because it was Angee’s birthday! haha!) The light was SOOOO pretty and we got some really good photos of their family! The only downside was the millions of mosquitos and mosquito bites we got! haha! But I am SO grateful I had the opportunity to photograph this sweet family!
