I only photograph families about twice a year and I LOVE IT when it’s families I know! haha! Of course, I love meeting new families too, but knowing that a family will come back and want photos from me more than once takes a HUGE amount of pressure off! I know I’ll remember their names (even if I need a little bit of a reminder at first) and I’ll know their family dynamic. I’ll know what poses and prompts to use to really get their genuine emotions and expressions, and relationships! It’s just so comfortable and I love that because then they aren’t afraid to ask for what they want too! The Taylor family was just that for this Pocatello Family Mini Session!

I met the Taylor’s way back when my husband and I were brand new parents and I served as a youth leader in our church. Audrey and Jessica were in my youth group so I got to know them first. They are both a little shy but are so funny and SO sweet! I loved getting to know them and it’s been so fun being able to photograph their family the past couple years! This Pocatello Family Mini Session was at Gibson Jack Trailhead in Pocatello Idaho and it was gorgeous!! We had just a little bit of fall colors peaking through and it was such a fun session. At the end of all my weddings, engagement sessions, family sessions, I always ask if there’s any other poses or combinations we didn’t get that they wanted. And without fail, the kids in this family want specific photos with at least one other family member and I think that is SO sweet! Especially for families, when if anyone wants more photos, it’s mom. haha! This family has such a special relationship and you just know they are doing something right.
