High School | My Love Story | Idaho Wedding Photographer | Sarah Tapp Photography
Because I had just been dating his best friend, Geoff was playing it a little safe when he found out I liked him. Plus, I was still trying to get over my ex and I didn’t want Geoff to be a rebound. So, we started talking and hanging out all the time. He was so patient and just kept asking to hang out with me and spend time with me. He was always the one that texted first and called me to get together.
One day, I finally decided that I was ready to date him, after he pined for me for a few months. =) And, the rest is history! We dated our whole senior year of high school, went to a couple school dances and had tons of movie nights and fast food runs! He always left me little notes and huge Hershey’s chocolate bars in my truck while I was in school or at work. He wrote me songs and made me origami lilies (my favorite flower) that I still have to this day. He opened my car door (and still does) and never did anything that made me uncomfortable. He was a perfect gentleman.
And our first date was my first clue that maybe, just maybe he was the one for me. Geoff planned the whole thing and it was actually before we were even dating. We went to see Despicable Me in theaters! And it was 3D. So, we totally put on those dorky 3D glasses and of course, then we didn’t want to look at each other because we both felt like idiots! haha. But half-way through the movie, Geoff put his hand out right in front of me and just looked at me. He didn’t say anything, just looked and patiently waited until I put my hand into his. (which by the way, is a total description of our relationship! He is SO patient with me!)
Our first kiss was on his birthday (March 5th) in his driveway right before I went to go home. And it was FREEZING outside. But so perfect. =)
We graduated high school together and went to college at the same school. I started a semester before him, but he worked in the town where my school was so he spent lots of evenings at my apartment distracting me from homework, watching movies, making fast food runs, and always opening my car door, just like in high school.
