Well, if you’re anything like me then you don’t love being in front of the camera. I know that most of us are probably pretty insecure about getting our photos taken, including me. That’s why, as a Snohomish Wedding Photographer, I really try to make it FUN for you! Those stiff, posed photos do not do anyone justice in my opinion. I want to capture your personality, relationship and love story! I want you to be comfortable in front of the camera, instead of dreading how the images are going to turn out. So, I wanted to give a little behind the scenes look on how I use Posing Prompts for Engagement Photos!

In your engagement session with me, there will be lots of moving! It seems counter-intuitive to move while a photographer is trying to take a still image. But I promise you, your images will turn out SO much better and you will be SO much happier with how you look and feel if you’re moving! There are only a handful of times in the whole session when I’ll have you still to get that one shot that everyone wants with you looking at the camera. But in my opinion, the images YOU’LL love are the ones where you can see emotion. The ones where you are laughing and looking into each others eyes! And just so you have an even more clear idea of how an engagement session with me will be, here are some of the prompts for Engagement photos that I use in almost every session:

~Stand side by side and hold hands, walk towards me slowly while looking at each other

~Face each other and put your hands up in front of you and interlace your fingers. Try to knock each other over

~Stand directly behind your love and put your arms out by your side, interlace your fingers and then wrap her up in both your arms

~Slow dance with each other. Get lost in the moment

~Stand side by side holding hands and run to me while you look at each other

~Pull your love in close to you and then give her the best kiss of her life

~Stand directly behind your love and put your arms around her neck like you’re hugging her from behind and then rock back and forth

~Stand facing each other and lift your love straight up with both arms under her legs and kiss

~Whisper an inside joke into your loves ear

These are just SOME of the prompts for Engagement photos that I use. But I also know how to read each couple and I won’t ask you to do anything that feels uncomfortable or not like you! I do ask that you come into your session with an open mind and ready to have some FUN! I love creating beautiful and meaningful images for you to have forever and I believe that the more candid the images are, the more you’ll love them.
