Cindy & Fabian met at a golf club where they both went to dance and listen to music. Cindy noticed ‘Fabian across the room talking with the DJ. [She] thought he was a fine looking man! Little did [she] know [that] he saw [her] across the room with [her] friends. When the music came on [Fabian] just stood by the DJ moving to the music. [Cindy] wanted to dance and [her] friends encouraged [her] to go ask him. [She]did! He said yes, and [they] have been together since that time. 14 years in July!’ When I asked Cindy about the proposal story she said that one day they just both looked at each other and ‘came to the conclusion that [they] would like to be married’! So, they went ring shopping and made it happen!
Their wedding was at their church in Salem, surrounded by family and friends. It was such a sweet ceremony and all throughout it was clear the God was present in their lives and relationship. He is the center of their lives and that’s why their love for each other is so strong. There were multiple prayers throughout the ceremony, a communion and beautiful words of encouragement, love and even humor. The couple shared hand written vows and the Pastor made sure to involve everyone during the ceremony. During Cindy & Fabian’s communion, the Pastor asked the guests to pray for the couple which I thought was so sweet and fitting. He talked about their families becoming one and always learning to rely on God in their marriage. And towards the end, he said something that really resonated with me personally. I’m sure I’m paraphrasing, but he said that God would be there to help them when they wanted to say yes, but needed to say no and when they wanted to say no but needed to say yes. … Marriage is about give and take. It’s hard work. It’s about putting someone else’s needs before your own so you can learn and grow together. And it’s obvious that this is what Cindy & Fabian have done and will continue to do. So grateful I was able to be a part of their big day. Congrats you two!
