I recently had a client meeting with a potential bride and I must say neither of us were very prepared. I had a list of a few questions I wanted to ask her but it seemed like she had no idea what to ask me! So, I wanted to put together a list for potential brides about what to ask your wedding photographer. There are so many amazing photographers and it’s so hard to pick the one that’s the right fit for you! So, the better prepared you are, the better experience you’ll have with your photographer and the better images you’ll have to remember your big day!

Logistics

1 ~ How long have you been shooting weddings and how many have you shot?

2 ~ Are you available the day of our wedding?

3 ~ Are you available for engagements and bridals/formals? If so, do we pick the date and time or do you?

4 ~ Are you available for travel?

5 ~ How far in advance do I need to book you for my wedding day?

Shooting Specifics

6 ~ Have you shot at our venue(s) before?

7 ~ Have you shot a similar styled weddings to ours?

8 ~ What is your shooting style? (moody, light, airy, etc.)

9 ~ Will you be the only one shooting or will there be a second shooter?

10 ~ Have you worked with any of our other vendors before? Especially the videographer if we have one.

11 ~ What kind of photographer are you? Do you take charge or will you just stay in the background and capture the event as is?

Pricing

12 ~ Show me your pricing/packages.

13 ~ Do you charge based on time spent on site or total time per day? (continuous coverage or not)

14 ~ Can I customize a package to fit my needs?

15 ~ If I change my mind about my chosen package, is there an extra charge to switch or add on coverage?

16 ~ Do you charge extra for travel? If so, what?

17 ~ Do you require a deposit? If so, how much and when is it due?

18 ~ If our event goes longer than planned, will you stay and will you charge extra if you stay?

Image Delivery

19 ~ How will I receive the images? (CD, print, digital, etc.)

20 ~ Do you offer unedited images?

21 ~ How long after my event will I receive my images?

22 ~ Will I have print release to my images if delivered digitally or by CD?

Legal

23 ~ Will you use these images for marketing? If so, what platforms will they appear on and will we be tagged in the images?

24 ~ If we have any issues with our images or experience can we discuss them with you?

25 ~ What is your cancellation and refund policy?
