I don’t typically shoot extended families, but when this family asked, I couldn’t say no! I met Taylor first when we moved to Oregon and her little family was so cute that I asked if I could shoot them! Trying to build your client base in a new area is so hard, so I just wanted to start shooting! Taylor and Kiefer were perfect for that! They have the sweetest kiddos and they were so easy to photograph! After our session was over, Taylor mentioned that her mother-in-law was looking for a photographer for their extended family. At first I was a little hesitant because I don’t shoot extended families often, but when she told me more, I had to say yes!
Tina contacted me a couple months later and mentioned that there were only 7 adults and 2 kiddos in their extended family. She wanted to re-create an image that they’d taken a couple years back showing how their family has grown. She also wanted to get some photos with her mom and said how important it was to capture this time. I was immediately hooked. Tina is so sweet and thoughtful and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to capture her amazing family.
She’s the kind of person that makes you feel like you’re a part of her family, even though I had only just met her. We picked a central location that would be good for her mom and for her grandkids. I loved spending time with this awesome family and hope I’ll get the chance to photograph them again!
